Problem

30 minutes delivery was also restricted to essential groceries, ehh?

Imagineโ€ฆ
realizing your outfit doesnโ€™t match the party dress code a few hours before leaving.
remembering you need a gift right before heading to a house party.
your earphones break right before an important client call.

Solution

Launched 'Warpli' - a quick e-commerce platform that delivered non essential items within the window of 30 minutes.

Designing The Agile Way

The aim was to build minimum viable features in a quick span of time to receive funding.

The product was meant to reach the users as soon as possible since this was the first version of the product.

Hence, the agile methodology was defined to bring out the product quickly.

The user interviews were divided into two: online and in-store shopping behaviour.

Out of 9 interviews, I conducted 4 interviews with different types of shoppers. Through a synthesis, I was able to identify pain points and design opportunities at different stages of the user journey.

From Insights to Ideation

Out of all the insights, what mattered most was figuring out what to prioritize for the MVP stage.

CONSUMER'S POV

Need for a platform that helps discover local brands while enabling fast, reliable delivery.

SELLER'S POV

Sellers are looking for solutions that help digitize their inventory and make it easier to market their products online.

BRAND POSITIONING

30 minutes delivery is the core value proposition and needs to be clearly communicated through the digital experience.

Wireframing

As soon as the key features were established, I began drafting the information architecture and wireframes of the app

Rapid Testings and Findings

The first round of testing, revealed that Warpli seemed like any other e-commerce platform and the USP of 30 mins was not communicated enough.

Before launching the app, the website was the primary touchpoint where the backend of business happens - onboarding the sellers, recruiting new employees and introducing a brief idea about Warpli to potential partners.

The mobile application is where the key consumer journey takes place. In order to differentiate Warpli from the e-commerce market players, a bold quirky mood board was established.

My Experience

Warpli was a very early stage project with just an idea and a logo. It was the first project in which I contributed to the entire design process from start to finish, from research to usability testing and post production.

I got the opportunity to stir conversations with designers, engineers, developers, managers from various teams and the founder himself. During the whole process, I realised what goes behind building a product from scratch, what are the roadblocks at various touchpoints and how to solve them with my team.

Wrapping Up

Building MVP ๐Ÿ—๏ธ

Prioritising tasks while building the first version of the app under business and technology constraints. While building the MVP, it was important to focus on the key user journey and not necessarily build the full-fledged app.

Each tool carries a unique benefit, and I believe a combination is conducive to efficient working. I started building information architecture on FigJam and soon realised its limitation and switched to Xmind to maximise efficiency.

It was a fast-paced project with daily deliverables, hence there was a need to strike the balance between speeding towards the deadline but also taking care of the important details.

The product revamp took care of needs of both new players as well as pro players on respective platform.

I learnt to set up meetings with high net worth individuals, engage everyone and make sure everyone is on the same page. I constantly discovered opportunities to work on my soft skills - communication, confidence and leadership.
